Not sure if this is an issue with the seller or the manufacturer but some of these (over half) the batteries are almost dead and one the battery is total dead with some corrosion. Here's a novel idea guys it only took me like a minute to check these out. How about you guys test these before you send to customers. Now my only option is to replace these batteries myself because it I send them back to be replaced I stand a good chance of having the same issue because there is no quality control on their end. Very disappointing.I forgot to mention the buttons do not work well with this case. You have to press very hard to get them to engage. As an example the case I am using now I just barely have to press the buttons and they engage the way they should. Just another are where tarsus missed the mark on this case.Not too bright, not too dim. It's great and the battery last a long time. I bought a 6 pack of batters (because it was right next to these). 5 years later I still have leftover batteries!Sadly, I've gone through many of these you need to remember to take them off the dog's collar. You twist them off/on. So when you turn it on, your twisting the back and front fully together and you can feel it it 'lock' into place. When you turn it off, your doing the opposite. Therefore, when your dog is running around, the front half flies off somewhere.I really wanted to like this item. When it came it looked the perfect size but the light looked dim. So that night I tried it on and the light was actually perfect. I didn't want anything too bright that looked like a comet making it's way to earth but just bright enough that cars and people in NYC can see that there's a dog and to not hurt her, or to be able to track her if she got loose from the leash. The item worked fine for about a week and then the flickering started, and then it stopped working altogether. So for $5-6 it only got about 1-weeks use out of it.This light can be seen for 50 plus feet when you take your dogs out at night. It is easy to turn on by just turning it to right & off by turning it to left. I walk 2-3 dogs at once without a leash & I can see them & know if they wander to far away. Because my in house dogs are females, I prefer the starburst light or other light without a pattern but these were all that were available when I ordered. I am happy with these & will definitely order Nite Ize lights when needed. I have batteries to replace when lights go out. Great idea for dogs that go out at night!! Love it!!Smaller version of the lights so less bulky and weight. It works great on my terrier and is still bright enough to see. The covers for the smaller lights screw on and one was open when received which had allowed the battery to escape and fall out of the shipping box. The battery is easy to replace and I already had a spare available at home. The clip is plastic so if you have multiple dogs that chew or pull each others collars they may be an issue. I haven't had a problem with that so just an observation.Dim Light. If you live in the city where you have street lights this would suffice However, if you live in a town w/ no street lights then this light is not strong enough. Plus points: Device is small, feels pretty robust and clips easily onto dogs collarHowever, the light is not very bright and can't be seen with any surrounding light (e.g. By street lamp lit roads)- so no benefit for using in an urban environment. It won't make you or your dog more visible to traffic. It can barely be seen on pitch black fields (faint glow) and only if the dog is heading towards you. Would probably be ok on a key ring, but not ideal for tracking an active dog over the fields. May be better once have changed the batteries.Wasn't very bright even when received but within a week can barely see the light - I presume the battery needs replacing but despite having 15 different sizes of button cell battery I don't have any CR927 which this requires so will have to buy some specifically. It turns on and off by simply twisting, however I also found it gets stuck on sometimes and is very difficult to turn back off. Not great.Fine on the first day it was used, second day the front fell off and was lost. This is the second one that I've had that has done this.
