After the installation of the battery, The nightlight will enter "Automatic Mode" 2. After entering "Automatic Mode" the light control switch is in working state. 3. When the ambient brightness is lower than 2-3 lux, and a person enters the induction area (about 8 feet radius) the lamp will turn on and remain on for 30 seconds. If the lamp senses human activities again within 30 seconds, the delay will be counted again from zero. 4. When the ambient brightness is higher than 2-3 lux, the lamp WILL NOT turn on even if human activity enters the induction area.

The round surface needs to be facing toward the movement, and then a very bright beam of light comes on in that direction. It is a little brighter than is comfortable on nighttime eyes, but it definitely gives one light to move by.This light is convenient as it goes on with motion and healthy because it goes off after a minute to allow sleep in complete darkness. I love it.Love this - it’s been perfect for our young boys when they get up to use the bathroom. The brightness is perfect, and I love that because it’s not blue light it doesn’t wake them up too much. The motion sensor is perfect too, we had been using a regular night light previously, which ended up staying on all day.
