Not too bright, not too dim. It's great and the battery last a long time. I bought a 6 pack of batters (because it was right next to these). 5 years later I still have leftover batteries!Sadly, I've gone through many of these you need to remember to take them off the dog's collar. You twist them off/on. So when you turn it on, your twisting the back and front fully together and you can feel it it 'lock' into place. When you turn it off, your doing the opposite. Therefore, when your dog is running around, the front half flies off somewhere.
